3. Insurance

Each Company must keep on file with the DPU a current Certificate of Insurance. If you have not filed a current proof of insurance, please attach it below or have your agent send proof of coverage to dpu.transportation@mass.gov

Minimum Insurance Levels for a vehicle with a seating capacity of

  • Sixteen (16) or more: $5,000,000
  • Fifteen (15) or less: $1,500,000

    4. Fees

    DPU will not issue a permit until fees are paid. Regional Transit Authorities pay no fee.

    New Bus Permit:    $60 per vehicle

    Renew Bus Permit:  $40 per vehicle
