Cybersecurity Internship Interest Assessment Survey

As cyber threats continue to evolve and grow in complexity, the demand for skilled cybersecurity professionals across all levels of government has never been greater. Local government agencies, in particular, face increasing challenges in maintaining secure systems and protecting sensitive information — often with limited staff and resources. To help address these challenges, our team is exploring the creation of a Cybersecurity Internship Program designed to expand local cybersecurity capacity while cultivating future talent for the public sector. The program would leverage partnerships with colleges and universities to connect local government agencies with qualified students or recent graduates who have foundational cybersecurity training and are eager to apply their knowledge in real-world municipal environments. Through this survey, we seek to better understand the interest, capacity, and potential concerns that local governments may have regarding participation in such a program. Thank you.
